Citric Acid

Citric Acid
The most popular use for Citric Acid is in bath bombs. It can be used with Sodium Bicarbonate as the base ingredients for a bath bomb. When these two chemicals are combined, they create a fizzy and bubbly effect when in contact with water.

Citric Acid is a fine crystalline white powder which is odourless.

Citric Acid has so many uses:
  • Personal care products such as bath bombs and bath salts (when mixed with Sodium Bicarbonate)
  • Acts as a preservative in cosmetic products
  • Used as a pH adjusting agent in cream and gels
  • Can be used in shampoo to wash out wax and colouring from the hair
  • Removes and discourages the buildup of limescale
  • Can be used as an odourless alternative to white vinegar for home dyeing with acid dyes
  • Effectively cleans grease and is the active ingredient in some bathroom and kitchen cleaning solutions
  • A solution with a six percent concentration of citric acid will remove hard water stains from glass without scrubbing
